My name is Philipp. I am the CEO of friends-abroad and founded the company together with Eullen after we figured out how difficult it is for foreigners to settle down in Germany and fight through all the bureaucracy, regulations and options that are waiting for you once you decided to move to Germany. One of my biggest hobbies is traveling. I have visited a lot of countries in Europe, Asia and America, met people from all around the world and got in contact with a huge variety of cultures. My goal is to help those coming to Germany not only with making the right decisions and speeding up the official processes but also to become a happy and self-confident citizen in Germany who knows about the social rules, the German culture and how to make the best out of staying in Germany. Studies are stating clearly that moving abroad becomes substantially more successful if people are well integrated and adapt to the local culture. My goal is to extent the services of traditional very cost-intensive relocation services, expat services and foreigners support by hands-on, easy and quick help paired with an additional amount of service and personal contact. And the best thing: it is not only cheaper but it is also more successful as we put a high focus on the integration process as well. In our opinion this is the key for successfully moving to Germany.

Hi friends,

I am Eullen originally coming from Costa Rica and I came to Germany in 2019. I was overwhelmed by all the challenges and everything you need to think about when you move abroad. Even that I started to learn German two years before my arrival and read through a lot of information, talked to many people and wrote a lot of mails, there are still so many things which you just figure out after you’re stuck at that specific point abroad. Philipp helped me in those days, not only by translating important documents, giving useful suggestions and speeding up my integration process but also by knowing how to argument when it comes to difficult situations in the visa process. Even that I know that theoretically I could have done everything on my own, practically I think it would not have been possible. It was the right decision to use his help. I met people who spend two years and more to get what I had within less than one month. That’s why I am so convinced about the services of friends-abroad. As a co-founder I want to support people who are in a similar situation trying to make their dream come true.
